Autism Assessment Options

Payments are made when you first sign up, and should be e-transfered to payment@ndpsych.com

Pay in Instalments
:

We understand the importance of financial flexibility and offer a two-part payment option. To begin the assessment, you may choose to submit only half of the total fee at the time of sign-up. The remaining balance can then be settled prior to scheduling your clinical interview. So, feel free to sign up and pay the full fee as normal, or sign up and send only the first half, or contact me directly with any concerns.

Same Foundation:

There are two variations of the autism assessment offered; all variations include the same foundational testing and thorough clinical interview. The options mostly vary by how much detail is included in the final report, and the Extended option includes a number of additional services, as detailed here.

Add-Ons:

You can also choose whether or not you want your assessment to include an “add-on” to thoroughly assess for and diagnose adult ADHD (when relevant). I do not offer assessments for ADHD by itself; see my FAQ page for rationale—though if I’ve personally assessed you for autism in the past then I will make an exception and assess you for ADHD.

If you’re including the ADHD “add-on” then include that as part of the payment you send. Just as simple example (not necessarily representative of actual prices): if your autism assessment was $2200 and the ADHD add-on was $1300, you would send $3500.

You can get started today! Simply fill out the form on the Get Started page and e-transfer the corresponding payment (Comprehensive versus Extended report). Prices are in Canadian dollars.

Payments should be e-transfered to payment@ndpsych.com

  • Currently e-transfers are the only way to pay for these assessments (sometimes called “Interac e-transfer”), which is a normal and specific type of online transfer. If you have a Canadian bank account with a checking account or savings account, it is very likely you’ll be able to send e-transfers through your online banking. Banks that I confirmed that allow e-transfers: RBC, TD, BMO, Scotiabank, CIBC, HSBC, and Canadian Western Bank. There are more but if your bank isn’t on that list, you can google it to find out.

Currently, you can not pay with credit card, PayPal, Apple Pay, Venmo, “Cash App”, cash, cheques, and so on.

  • No, I will provide you with a receipt for services which you can submit to your insurance company, assuming they cover this service.

  • Coverage depends on your insurance plan. Before starting the assessment, consult your provider about the types of psychological assessments they cover and the required credentials for the service provider. I'm a registered psychologist in Alberta, though I often reside in Ontario. Occasionally, an insurance company may have issues understanding cross-jurisdictional practice; for example, BlueCross Medavie in NS has faced substantial challenges with me with this aspect.

Note that upon signing up, you will receive a receipt for your payment that is technically a “deposit.” As the assessment work is completed in the following weeks or months, that work is credited against the deposit until the assessment is completed and I send you your report. Sometimes insurers will want a receipt that details what work was done on which day, and that can’t be provided until after the assessment is completed.

The College of Alberta Psychologists maintains a list of registered psychologists; see their membership directory to confirm my license (iain Dolan, #4969).
